Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which means the complete knowledge of long life. Ayurvedic medicine is traditional way of curing diseases among native Indians and is used an alternative medicine in the south Asian region. In Sanskrit ayus mean longevity and Veda means related to knowledge or science. The earlier literature on ayurveda or native medical practice books was written during the Vedic period e.g., the mid second millennium BCE. Susruta Samhita and Caraka (books) are considered as encyclopedia of Ayurvedic curing which was written during mid-first millennium BCE to about 500 CE. These are fundamental books of this knowledge. Over the following centuries the ayurveda practitioners developed medicinal preparations, surgical procedures for treatment of different diseases. So now we can understand that the medicines produced according to the ayurvedic knowledge is called Ayurveda Products
