The disease is incurable but it can be treated with various medications in order not to worse.
3. How to treat Rosacea?
The main principles of treatment of rosacea are:
- Removing the factors supporting rosacea:
avoid spicy food and some drinks (garlic, vinegar, alcohol, coffee, hot food), restricting smoking;
treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, cardio - vascular diseases and endocrine glands, chronic inflammation diseases - sinusitis, granulomas (required consultation with relevant experts to clarify the appropriate treatment);
if there is Demodex folliculorum, then oral antibiotics (tetracycline, metronidazole) are prescribed;
in mental stress sedation;
Skin should not be exposed to the sun.
- From preparations for local applications:
antibacterial agents as well in treating acne, sunscreen creams and powders;
If Demodex folliculorum infection is proven, then you should applie locally benzylbenzoate 10%, metronidazole cream;
in the infected form - acne-rosacea - you should locally apply erythromycin, clindamycin, and in more severe cases you should locally apply exfoliants (Retin A, Bactroban, Scinoren, Acnederm, Acnedasil etc.);
the aplication of corticosteroids also reduces the swelling and the redness of rosacea, but their application is not recommended because of rapid relapse and aggravation of of the condition after withdrawal of the corticosteroid treatment.
- Do not use scrub - masks and procedures associated with abrupt warming and cooling of the skin. Cosmetic products must be from indifferent type and they should not contain alcohol. Not applicable: D'Arsonval, hygienic - beauty massage and cleansing.
4. From physiotherapy procedures:
massage of SOLVIT in the first stage of rosacea;
iontophoresis with ihtiol if there is acne rosacea;
cryotherapy.
5. Rhinophyma could be removed by surgery, using a laser. Dermabrasion helps to remove the scars.
Particular attention requires the treatment of keratitis.

The treatment of Rosacea is prolonged and improvement can be expected over a long period of time.
